Trick or Treat!
Another busy Halloween at my house. Despite the cold, damp weather the kids turned out in force. Easily 400 of them.

Of course a Jack O'lantern is mandatory. The older I get, the less worried I am about perfection and conversely, the more fun I have.

And the fun begins. Oh Boy! Candy!

2012 Oh boy! Candy!

Very quickly a line builds up on the walk in front of my house.

2012 Line up on my front walk

Soon the line extends to the end of the walkway and into the driveway. With reinforcements marching down the road. Will I have enough to fend off the marauding hordes!?

2012 Out my walk to the driveway and more coming on the road

My house rule: You must pull my dragon doorknocker's tail to get candy. I am wearing my muppet costume. I can't remember whether it is Stadtler or Baldorf.

2012 Pulling the dragons tail

A triumphant dragon slayer conquers the door knocker and wins his candy.

The End

Nice job on the jack-o-lantern!! I haven't carved a pumpkin in so many years. Wow, where did all of those kids come from!! I don't think I've seen that many trick or treaters in years. Looks like you have a cool house to come to for halloween and that it was a fun time :).

Otsego, MI is a small town surrounded by a fair sized rural area. We "import" a lot of kids for Halloween. Add that to the fact that I live in a suburban kid friendly neighborhood and this is where the throngs accumulate.
