The new presidential gold dollars
Just for fun, I picked up 4 rolls of the new George Washington gold dollars. (Not really gold, but they are bright and shiny.) They read: George Washington, First President, United States of America, $1, (on the rim) E Pluribus Unum, and In God We Trust.

"Liberty" is conspicuously absent.

Current Mood: annoyedannoyed

It's interesting that the outer edges are engraved with words rather than milled.

I want to live to a ripe old age so I can carry around Jimmy Carter, LBJ, and Bill Clinton dollars in my pocket.

I tend to get $10 of "strange" money (Susie B's, Sacagaweas, Ikes, Kennedies, Franklins and Jefferson $2 bills) at the bank, and leave them for server tips at restaurants. The letters on the rims mean that I can tell those dollars from quarters before I pull them out of my coinpurse.
