Well, I don't have the necessary type of dewar to make the liquid nitrogen ice cream in the kitchen, and i can't bring the food cooking into the lab where the liq N2 is, so . . .

I have picked up liquid nitrogen dewars at dairy farm auctions for modest prices (Semen tanks, they call them). I have two 17 liter dewars and one 35 liter dewar.
The smaller dewars are far more convenient. I picked up one 17 liter dewar for $35 and the other 17 liter dewar for an incredibly cheap $10.(and yes, it holds liquid nitrogen quite well.)
