Tom Swift and His Motor-Cycle
or Fun and Adventures on the Road by Victor Appleton copyright 1910.

I just finished reading the very first Tom Swift book. Adventures include on the fly repairs of a butter churn, a mechanical lawn mower, a donkey drawn wagon brake, a donkey powered sawmill, and of course a motor-cycle using barbed wire fencing.

Tom saves his father's (Barton Swift - and to think I live on Barton street!) patent model of a turbine engine from thieves. But wait! The bad guys are not captured! Tune in to the next book, Tom Swift and His Motor Boat!

I can hardly wait until it comes out.

Hot dang! Another set of books to get from Manybooks.net when I run out of reading material. Thanks for the pointer!
