Food Bash

Some of you may do the oat eating thing to reduce cholesterol, or maybe you just like oatmeal. Today I will share with you my bachelor cooking recipe.

I often use the instant, or at least premixed, foods supplied at my friendly neighborhood grocer. By using two instant foods together (Bashing them together, a method used routinely in the world of model rocket kit building.) you can make a pretty good third food.

I use Aunt Jemima buttermilk pancake mix and instant oatmeal packets to make oatmeal pancakes. I mix one packet of Cinnamon Apple instant oatmeal (any flavor will do according to taste.), put it in the measuring cup and add pancake mix until the total volume is the 1 cup required on the pancake mix label. I add the requisite 3/4 cup water, stir vigorously and cook as I would normally cook pancakes. The pancakes are heavier and soggier than regular pancakes, but have a wonderful apple cinnamon flavor. I like them anyway.
