Yesterday, I went to visit my brother Peter( http://peteralway.livejournal.com/ ) in Ann Arbor before going to a 50th year dinner to celebrate Yuri Gargarin's flight into space. We did a little astronomy and discussed model building.
In particular we talked about plastic model conversion (PMC) to a model rocket of a plastic kit of the lunar excursion module. Part of the LEM was covered with gold mylar which has a wrinkled appearance. Peter remembered that Rolo candies used to be wrapped with a gold colored aluminum foil that would work perfectly on the model, but he wasn't sure if they still are wrapped with the same material.
A quick trip to the local Dollar General confirmed that they still are. Gold foil is in hand.
