In Kalamazoo the former General Chemical facility is up for auction. Paper making has all but disappeared from the area in the last ten years, so the aluminum sulphate formerly produced there (used as a flocculant for paper waste water streams) is no longer needed.
The following warning was in the auction notice:
"Please exercise due diligence before bidding on this parcel or stepping in front of moving busses."
That pretty well sums it up.
