One million rounds of candy, check. Biter biscuits, check. Pumpkin, check. Bronze Dragon doorknocker, check. Weather forecast, rain stopping by nightfall, check.

:-)

I have laid in about 150 pieces of candy. I have a little pumpkin that doubles as an eating pumpkin--we'll see if it's still potable after harboring a candle for a while. Alas, I have no bronze dragon doorknocker--that sounds cool.

Halloween can come as soon as I have carved the pumpkin and decided how to lure ghoulies and ghosties and two-leggedy beasties to the front door instead of the back.

While small pumpkins are better for eating than large ones, I would suggest, if you did not buy it from the produce section, it was not intended for eating.

The Spousal Unit sez that the pumpkin should be okay for cooking if it doesn't get soft. That's assuming that it's only lit for a short while, i.e., your Hallowe'en is the same as your Beggars' Night. They're two different nights here in mid-Ohio.
